Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied’s 11-year marriage has officially come to an end.
The Star Wars and Black Swan actress finalized her divorce from Millepied in France, where they had been living, according to People Magazine. This comes eight months after Portman, 42, filed for divorce. The couple shares two children, and while they’ve remained private about the reasons for their split, allegations of infidelity against Millepied surfaced last year.
Despite the challenges, the two were seen together at the Women’s Football World Cup final in Sydney just months after the allegations made headlines. In an interview with Vanity Fair last month, Portman touched on the swirling rumors, calling the speculation “terrible” and emphasizing her reluctance to fuel the conversation further.
The love story between Portman and Millepied began on the set of Black Swan in 2010, where Millepied worked as the film’s choreographer, teaching Portman the intricate ballet moves that would help her win an Oscar. The couple announced their engagement and first pregnancy in December 2010, welcoming their son Aleph in June 2011. A romantic California wedding followed the next summer, and their family grew with the arrival of daughter Amalia in February 2017.
Millepied, 46, has had a prolific career, starting as a dancer with the New York City Ballet in the 1990s before transitioning into choreography for stage and film. His impressive work includes contributions to projects like Dune.
